Steps for Silhouette art.

ART ASSIGNMENT
Silhouette
We are doing Silhouettes of one design with 5 different stamps. I chose to do the picture of batman with a bat on the chest.

At first, I had to find a figure or image which I could use for my silhouette. It took me a while since I had many ideas but could only choose one. When i finally found the image, I took a screenshot of the picture to make sure I had it on the device without it being misplaced.

I then drew the figure in a piece of paper so it could be easier to trace onto the cardboard to get started with the paint.

After I finished drawing on the paper, I put the paper on top of the cardboard, and I traced it pressing hard onto the cardboard so when I would take the paper off, it would be imprinted a little on the cardboard. When I lifted the paper, I passed the pencil one more time so I could see clearly. I then grabbed an x-acto knife and began cutting the cardboard until The bat and eyes could pop out.

Then, as you can see, I was finally finished with the cardboard cutting and was now ready for the best next step.

I wasn't supposed to take a picture of my painted Batman, but the next step was supposed to be gluing the cardboard onto a piece of paper so when I do the next steps, it would be easier.

The next step was the PAINTING, I started out with black (acrylic paint) since Batman is mostly black, but I suggest you start with the most lightest colors so the rest of the prints won't have the previous colors, unless of course you want it like that.

When you are done the painting, you obviously need a paper, it could be regular paper but I suggest card-stock since its stronger. At first I did construction paper but I realized it damaged the cardboard and the construction paper wouldn't unstick from the card-board, so thats why I decided to use card-stock. Anyways, after the painting, I grabbed the paper and gently placed it on top of the cardboard, then I used a textbook (you could use anything wide and heavy). I waited for around 50  seconds and took off the textbook and the paper.

When you unstick the paper and cardboard, it should look like this (but neater, I'm not very neat). Don't worry if the paint on the card-stock isn't proper, its supposed to be like that, thats the point of silhouettes, thats what practically makes the image look good.

And voila! you are done! All you have to do is leave your print to dry for a few hours and thats it! If you want to do more at the same time, when you are done one print, you grab paper towels and clean the cardboard, no water! You have to wipe it off with a dry paper towel and then dab it and either put it next to a breeze, or grab it and start shaking it for a few minutes (note: it doesn't have to be completely dry though), then you repeat the steps. And you are done! These are pictures of my final products... Comment your best one or vote on the poll on the right.

Bruce Jenner- Script of interview

We were supposed to make a drama script on anything going on in social media so I chose Bruce Jenner and I used real facts in my script so I hope you learn more about Bruce Jenner or at least see the format of an interview. If I should change anything please comment your suggestion below.

 THE KATHY SHOW:
STARRING BRUCE JENNER

ACTORS: RAYAN-> BRUCE JENNER
KATHERINE-> INTERVIEWER

Me: And now to the 65 year old most openly transgender American, here is Bruce Jenner everybody!

Rayan: Hello thank you for inviting me

Me: No, no thank you for coming and joining us today (shake hands) I heard you recently got divorced with Kris Jenner.

Rayan: Yes I decided that even though I love her, it’s better for me to just live my life the way I was supposed to be born to. Many things have been going on and I think what’s best is us separating.

Me: True, you should always do what you believe in no matter what. But you do have 6 kids and 4 step kids, and have been married for around 21 years

Rayan: Well of course I love the, all, but I have been on this process since 1980, and there’s only a little time left for me to live, I need to make sure before anything happens to me I’ll be what i always wanted. Plus there’s a little bit left for the process to be fully completed.

Me: Yes, we’ve seen your family in the show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” starring your kids as well as your ex-wife. But what have they said about your decision, Did it come in great shock to them?

Rayan: Well, my family has been very supportive even though it was a great shock to them and most didn’t see it coming. My mother was fine with it even though we are Christians- which surprised me.

Me: I have heard that the Christian religion is very strict and what you are doing would completely undoubtedly be forbidden- as many other religions

Rayan: Well, yes it is quite strict but, at least I have a very supportive and loving family, that’s really all I need.

Me: I’ve also heard you are a former track and field athlete…

Rayan: Yes as a matter a fact, when I won the medal of the races, that’s when my fame began and from that, that allowed me to be here right now.

Me: Wow that’s quite interesting. You were born in Mt Kisco, New York. How were people reacting to what you’ve been wanting to do?

Rayan: You know, many people were ok with it and saw me as a normal person but some, would just look at me like I’m some crazy person, but I mean, I don’t wake up every day just to please them; I need to only please myself

Me: Well said, haters gonna hate you know. No matter what; male, female, transgender, tall, short- There will be people that won’t like you so why waste your time trying to please others. There really is no point.

Rayan: Yes, that is my motto. I want the world to be better, I don’t want people to judge others by their decision without even knowing the person.

Me: Have you been thinking about that for a while or ever since people found out about your transition?

Rayan: I have been agreeing to it my whole life, but ever since people have known or found out, I notice their hatred they have towards me so, I’ve thought of that more.

Me: Wow. Well you are right, people can be judgy.

Rayan: Yes! We are still human even if we choose to change our gender.

Me: Alright. Thank you so much for coming and sharing your opinion. Thank you everyone for coming have a good day.

Rayan: Thank you for having me (shakes hands)

Quote Of the Day

Quote of the day
To light a light is to cast a shadow. One cannot exist without the other!

-What does this quote mean? (it is symbolic- it has nothing to do with candles and flames)
-What shadows have you cast on yourself?
-Describe how a character in a text you have read has experienced the same thing

1.This quote means how if you want something really badly, you would have to give something back in return. "One cannot exist without the other" means that you cant get everything you want just like that, its got to be balanced out. If/ when you want something, you would have to sacrifice something just to get that, so thinking about it; if you want something, you have to over think it because if you have to sacrifice something really dear to you, you've got to think what is more important, whether its what you want or what you have, and sometimes this is the mistake people make because sometimes people don't think properly, and make the wrong decision so they end up regretting it.
Its not always necessarily giving something up, a more simpler way to think of it would be there always cant be a good, for every good there comes a bad. For example: If I'm an athlete, I will be great at sports since I am always practicing but then I wont have much time for friends, family and myself- it will always be about sports. Another common but simple example would be that; every time we want something, we have to give up our money (by buying it) but we gain the object we want. And that's why sometimes we find ourselves thinking " what do I really want?",  "What can help me?" etc.

  2. One of the many things I have cast a shadow on for myself (have gained something but lost another) would be asking my dad for an iPod. I had been begging and pleading for my dad to buy me an iPod for a few months, I figured having an iPod would be so cool and would entertain me as well as benefit me (which I still think happens). After I got the iPod, yes I was right; the iPod not only helped me with my research and studies, but it also entertained me, I get to text people and go on Facebook or Vine, but sadly I did give up something, and that was my family time, and exercise. I'm 24/7 on my iPod, if its not with me, I lose my mind. I never really let go of my iPod because I sometimes rather use it than go downstairs and do things with my family. So there, I gained and awesome device, but lost my control of time management.
Another funny example would even be when we play truth or dare. Every time we play, we are gaining fun but are at the same time either giving out a secret or being dared to do something so you lose your dignity haha. Either way truth or dare is fun depending on who you play it with.
For adults, they always want to see their children happy of course because they are happy if their kids are happy too. But, usually kids want more than offered and can you blame us? This kid's generation have big expectations of what they want. So for the parents to get happiness from their children, they have to give up their time and money. Which for them is not really much of an impact since their kids happiness is the best thing to them so they don't care what they have to sacrifice.
Another example for adults would be exercising. Exercising is a big commitment and is quite challenging to not give up. Especially for adults, they have work, have to do things at home and everything is time consuming for them. So exercising; to be in shape, they gotta lose some time, and the most hard of all is obviously the workouts hurt them physically since well, they are burning fat ( if they are exercising properly)

3. A book I have read is called The Cheat and this book is about 6 classmates who cheat on a geography test. So basically Jake (the loser) gave Sarah ( the popular one) a cheat sheet so he could either gain attention or popularity. Then, Sarah emailed the cheat sheet to about 4 other people. And they got caught which leaded to family trouble, suspension, running away, friendships ruined, and so much more. So Jake thought giving a cheat sheet would give him popularity (which at the end it did) but so many students got in trouble and were sent to the office for it. But at least he got what he wanted and things got better. Which it usually happens. When in life a shadow occurs, it's only a temporary shadow. After a while, the shadow goes away which is great for us- until of course another one comes.

Chips and candy

CHIPS

There are really awesome chips that I love. For example: Doritos, Cheetos, Lays, Popcorn etc. I know chips are unhealthy but eating them once in a while its pretty cool to eat them because of their different flavors and its easier to eat that than a whole meal. But of course eating them every day, thats wrong because it is bad for you but chips are really good! My personal favorite chips are Cheetos. I don't know why, probably the cheese and the chips itself is so good. Comment your favorite chips!

Candy

I love candy! Especially gummy candy! Since it's chewy and so very good! the bad thing is I have been eating a lot of candy lately which isn't good but I'll burn al that off in the summer. Candy is amazing and every time I eat it, I get hyper and literally crazy oh well hehe. Anyways, it's ok to eat candy but don't over eat it! That is bad for you, oh well who am I to judge, I am not a very good example myself. Comment your favorite candy below!

Ripley's Aquarium

Ripley's Aquarium
Ripley's Aquarium was awesome! It was a grade trip so I got to go with my friends, and all of us know that its way more fun with our friends there with us and it was! We saw many different species of fish and we got to touch sting rays! We saw a diving show, and we saw the glowing jellyfish! (of course jellyfish don't glow but still) we saw sharks and Nemo as well as Dori. We went on the "moving floor" and even though it was slow, we just had fun watching the fish swim together. We also went into the little "kids crawl" it was a little tunnel and it was fun even though it was a little bit short.
I went inside this yellow "submarine" and when I got up, I hit my face. Also, I kept hitting my head with those little things where if inside, there would be fish swimming around you. Every time I went in something small, I would hit my head but it was still awesome! Since it was something new.
I don't recall the name of this type of fish, if you know please comment the name to me so I can know. Anyways, I found this really cool since it looks like its awkwardly smiling or thinking "what are these people doing here?!"

We also saw lion fish. This type of aquatic creature looks strange but it also look pretty cool because of it's strange colors and patterns.

Going there was really cool it was a new experience and there were many different things we saw and learnt. for example: how 0.003% of all water in this world is drinkable, we learnt how to test water and how to prepare it for different kinds of fish and so much more. If you haven't been there before, you should definitely go and try going with friends its more fun like that.

Journal Prompt

Journal Prompt

Tell me about a type of music you detest and why (2 specific reasons). Is this music just rubbish, or is it merely  that you don't like it? The beats are horrid? The lyrics are pointless? (provide a specific example and lyrics to support your position)

* you can answer this question in your notebook or on your blog.

* if you use your blog please post a link here

I think I would say I completely detest metal. The reason I detest this type of music is because it's just some gothic weird people screaming their heads off and some think that's pure art. Well, it's certainly not. It's like these singers have pacts with the devil every time they are singing! It's horrifying. I honestly do not know why people like those songs. The music is rubbish, the beat is horrid, the lyrics- there are no lyrics, its just plain screaming! I don't know how someone can learn a song from this genre it's like memorizing when to do each scream and what pitch to make it in. I honestly get scared when I hear this type of music.
Also, the singers, when they have concerts, they wear masks or makeup to cover their faces. Like why are you doing this? Is it to cover your demon face or what? Every time these people scream, it's like they're sacrificing an animal or they're trying to reach out to a dead evil person. How can someone enjoy this type of music? I'm still asking myself that. And if you're reading this don't get offended I'm just stating what I think and what my opinion is. Why not listen to calm word-full songs? Why this? I really don't understand.

That right there is a link to a youtube rock/metal playlist. Just look at that picture. It's a demond! And look at the other video suggestions, they're pure demonds. What kind of songs are these? What does it teach you? Nothing. Just to be gothic and want to kill yourself. Not good at all.
