GRADE 1 STRUCTURE
SCIENCE FAIR
APRIL 29, 2015
This spectacular event taken place on Wednesday April 29, 2015 in the Beaumonde Heights JMS large gym, has left many teachers as well as students extremely fascinated of how creative these Grade 1 students! "I am extremely proud of these students, they're amount of creativity and energy towards this project was outstanding!" -One of the teachers of the grade 1 students.
The gym was packed with wonderful, neat scientific displays behind so much knowledge. At the grade 1 Science Fair, the little ones had created buildings, bridges, houses, etc! There was so much creativity and colours involved in this scientific event, the atmosphere was so knowledgeable!
It was just an amazing and well put together fair that I'm sure everyone had enjoyed!
Some of the questions that were beings asked were "What is the purpose of your structure?, Is your structure strong and/or stable? How do you know?" etc. It was just great to see how much passion these students carry inside of them while explaining what they have built!
This awesome structure is a windmill made with a type of coloured tissue paper and straws and what makes that thin straw so stable is the base where the straw is gone through.
The student that built this bridge used screws to put it together- to make it stronger.
"What fasteners did you use to hold your structure together" asked Reporter Reshmi Verma.
Emma replied "well, I used glue, popsicle sticks, strings and paper. all I did was glue popsicle sticks together and I rolled paper as poles and used the strings to attach the poles together.." I am comprehensively fascinated of how these small bodies have such intelligent brains it is amazing!!
Its marvelous how these children combine their creativity with their projects and thats how their work is so great. All these wonderful scientific displays have so much behind it and is extremely thought provoking. All of them definitely left me thinking "how?! how have they built such great things???" They really are very smart. I'm thinking they could help me with my projects too, haha.
Anyways, that grade 1 science fair was spectacular and quite fun. Such awesome structures!- as you can see.
